Tradition, craftsmanship, and quality

Creating custom-made stainless steel sinks is a craft that requires both skill and precision. At Furhoffs Rostfria, we have a long tradition of manufacturing sinks tailored to our customers' specifications – a history that dates back to the first stainless steel sinks in Swedish homes.

Today, we are proud to offer fully custom-designed stainless steel sink solutions, crafted to perfectly match your vision and kitchen dimensions. Each sink is made with care and top quality by our dedicated employees, who take genuine pride in their work. Our priority is to deliver a sink that not only meets your expectations but also provides your home with a timeless and sustainable solution you can enjoy for many years to come. A stainless steel sink for the home is a durable choice that stands the test of time and never goes out of style.

The surface and finish of the bench

Our sinks are made from high-quality stainless steel with a thickness of at least 1.25 mm, which is almost twice as thick as standard sinks. The extra thickness makes your sink both robust and durable, ensuring long-lasting wear resistance in your kitchen.

To ensure extra stability and sound dampening, the steel plate is attached to a wooden base. We only use the highest quality stainless steel, EN 1.4301, known for its corrosion resistance and durability. The tolerance for the length measurement is precisely specified to +0/-3 mm, ensuring a perfect fit.

To give your custom-designed sink a smooth and even finish, we perform careful post-brushing on some edges, especially on the short sides. This treatment may create a faint striped pattern, which will even out over time with use, giving your sink a unique patina.

For larger sinks, it may be necessary to join two plates together. Depending on the placement and length, the weld seam may be visible, adding a characteristic and durable design to your sink.

Care instructions

Follow these four simple care instructions to keep your sink in the best condition:

  1. Avoid using sharp or hard objects directly on the countertop surface.

It is impossible to completely avoid scratches on a countertop that is used regularly. Stainless steel is a very durable material, but the surface is sensitive to scratches. The first scratch may be noticeable, but it will disappear over time as the countertop develops a smooth, natural patina through use. To reduce the risk of visible scratches, avoid using sharp or hard objects directly on the countertop surface.

  2. Always clean the countertop after use.

To maintain your countertop in top condition, always wipe it with water, mild dish soap, and a soft cloth after use. Rinse off any dirt and then dry the countertop. Be aware that discoloration can occur if the stainless steel surface is exposed to acids. To avoid this, immediately wipe away spills from acidic food items.

  3. Be cautious with iron-containing materials on a damp countertop.

Discoloration can occur if stainless steel surfaces come into contact with iron-containing materials, such as steel wool or heavy cast iron pans and pots. Do not leave these items directly on a damp countertop, as they can cause permanent stains.

  4. Do not place hot items directly on the countertop surface.

Since the countertop is fitted with a glued wooden layer underneath for extra stability and sound insulation, avoid placing hot items directly on the surface. The heat can damage the adhesive and cause the steel to lift away from the board. If you want to place hot items on the countertop, you can order a countertop with a rounded resting surface. Resting surfaces and other practical accessories are available in our configurator.
