Sand trap channel FURO 153

Sand trap channel FURO 153

Robust and durable sand trap channel made of stainless steel, ideal for industrial applications, workshops, and other demanding environments where effective particle separation is crucial. Equipped with a removable sand trap box and an end-mounted outlet.
  • Variable Length – The channel is available in lengths ranging from 600 to 20,000 mm (in increments of 100 mm) with a fixed width of 300 mm.

  • Durable and Corrosion-Resistant – Manufactured from stainless steel EN 1.4301 (SS 2333) for high durability and resistance to corrosion. There is also an option to manufacture the channel in acid-resistant stainless steel EN 1.4404 (SS 2348) for added resistance.

  • Flexible Installation – The sand trap channel is designed for embedding in concrete floors, compatible with various common floor types, and equipped with a 360° rotatable and angle-adjustable outlet for flexible installation.

  • Effective Sedimentation – The sand trap function is based on the sedimentation principle, where heavier particles settle at the bottom while lighter materials flow out into the drain during high flows. Therefore, the channel is most effective at lower flow rates.

  • Easy Maintenance and Cleaning – Removable water trap with handle and liftable sand trap box (volume 5 liters) facilitate emptying and maintenance.

  • Stainless Steel Grate – Designed in sections with a maximum weight of 8 kg per section, making handling smooth and safe.

  • Sealing – EPDM rubber seals according to EN 681-1 type WC ensure a tight and durable installation.

Installation:

  • Delivered with a cover to prevent concrete from flowing into the channel during pouring.
  • Equipped with mounting ears for secure anchoring to the slab.
  • For mass concrete floors, cut-out strips are included on the bonding flanges.
  • Adjustable feet allow for easy height adjustment from above (see installation accessories).

Variable length (mm):

  • Length (L) = 600–2000 (in increments of 100)
  • Fixed width = 300
FURO153_VA_2.jpg

Variable depth (mm):

  • Depth (D) = 192, a good choice for lengths up to 2000.
  • Depth (D) = 232, recommended for lengths between 2000–6000.
  • Depth (D) = 312, recommended for lengths over 6000.

The channel depth (Rd) thereby varies between 80, 120, and 200.

Outlet placement:

The standard is an outlet section positioned at the end, but it is possible to choose the placement.

  • Specify c/c from the left.

Construction dimensions for FURO 153 floor channel:

S1: = 395 mm
F1: = 345 mm

Drains and channels always have a connection pipe and their water flow (V.g.) to consider. Water flow is always measured from the so-called bottom line of the pipe.

To facilitate product selection, we specify the total height (H) of our drains and channels. The total height is the distance from the finished floor surface to where the water exits the product. For bottom outlets, the measurement point is where the spigot begins.

The total height (H) is always made up of the top depth (D) plus the outlet section of the product. If the top depth is increased, the total height will also increase, affecting the product's water flow.

Dimensions for FURO 153:

  • Upper part depth (D) can be switched between 192, 232, and 312 mm (232 mm is a good choice for lengths between 2000–6000 mm). The channel depth (RD) then changes between 80, 120, and 200 mm.
  • Total height (H) for FURO 153 thus varies between 309, 349, and 429 mm (349 mm is a good choice for lengths between 2000–6000 mm).
  • If an extension part or inlet part is selected, the total height (H) increases by 60 mm.

Slope towards the outlet:
The product's slope towards the outlet varies depending on length and chosen upper part depth. With the standard configuration and end-positioned outlet, the following applies:

  • For lengths up to 2000 mm and recommended depth of 192 mm, the slope towards the outlet is at least 1 %.
  • For lengths between 2000–6000 mm and recommended depth of 232 mm, the slope towards the outlet is at least 1 %.
  • For lengths between 6000–20000 mm and recommended depth of 312 mm, the slope towards the outlet is at least 0.7 %.

For needs other than the above recommendations, the slope is affected.
